The passage in June 2016 of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act ushered in significant changes to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Welcomed in the moment as much needed legislative action to restore the public’s confidence in the government’s ability to identify and manage risks from industrial chemicals, the passage of time has diminished our collective euphoria. TSCA implementation has been difficult, contentious, and full of surprises.
This webinar will summarize key changes in the law and review major TSCA implementation measures. Special emphasis will focus on new chemicals regulation and the challenges chemical manufacturers and importers are experiencing as a consequence of the new law.
